With the mission of providing a comprehensive safe haven for members of the Trans 社区, the SouthEastern Trans Resource Center strives to embolden trans leaders, listen to the local 变性人 community, and make sure that trans people are supporting and getting their needs met. The 跨性别援助计划 of Virginia (TAPVA) is a trans-led, non-profit organization created to end homelessness within the 变性人 community in Virginia. TAPVA provides educational opportunities detailing the intersectionality between homelessness, 歧视, socioeconomic status and racism within the trans community in Virginia. The goal of TAPVA is to offer safe emergency and temporary transitional housing to homeless 变性人 adults in Virginia, and to help them find the additional resources. Learn More>

Now known simply by its acronym, GLAAD (formerly known as the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) was founded in 1985 in response to the defamatory and stigmatizing media coverage of HIV and AIDS. GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change.
